This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Karayevia ploenensis (Hustedt) Bukhtiyarova.

Invalidly introduced by Round & Bukhtiyarova (1996: 354); it was invalid because the genus name was invalid. INA notes that the name was "validated by citation of combination at time of validation of generic name" although CAS listed the name as invalid on 30 June 2014.
