The type species (lectotype) of the genus Pseudolithophyllum is Pseudolithophyllum fuegianum (Heydrich) M.L.Mendoza & Cabioch.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Chamberlainium natalense (Foslie) Puckree-Padua, P.W.Gabrielson & Maneveldt.

Lectotype: TRH (A2-107), designated by Adey in Adey & Lebednik (1967: 16); type locality: likely KwaZulu-Natal (as Natal), South Africa (see Puckree-Padua et al., 2020: 478). Lectotype sequenced: GenBank Accession MN752865.
