Type locality: "a floating wooden piece on coastal water in Drøbak (Norway)."; (Darienko & Pröschold 2017: 10) Notes: Lectotype (designated in Darienko & Pröschold 2017): Fig. 107 in Wille (1901). Epitype (deignated in Darienko & Pröschold 2017): The authentic strain SAG 2237 is permanently cryopreserved in metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen) in the SAG, University of Göttingen, Germany.
