Type locality: Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, Australia (Queenscliff, Nov. Holl. austr.); (Ducker 1965: 157) Holotype: Sonder 3; MEL; (Leliaert & Coppejans 2006: 672) Notes: Ducker (1965: 157, 158) notes that Womersley (1955) used the specimen, MEL 3007 as the type for Cladophoropsis bulbosa. This was marked in Sonder's hand: Cladophora (Aegagropila) bulbosa Sond. Queenscliff, Nov. Holl. austr.
