The type species (holotype) of the genus Haraldiophyllum is Haraldiophyllum bonnemaisonii (Kylin) A.D.Zinova.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Neoharaldiophyllum udoense (M.S.Kim & J.C.Kang) J.C.Kang & M.S.Kim.

Type locality: Haumokdong, Udo, Jeju Island, Korea (33°30'21" N, 126°56'09" E); (Kim & Kang 2011: 212) Holotype: June 14, 2009; JNU; MSK30601HU (Kim & Kang 2011: 212) Notes: JNUB; tetrasporophyte (Kang et al., 2017).

This is a marine species.
Description
Thallus elliptical, 22 cm long and 6 cm wide, consisting of one or several blades attached by a fibrous holdfast; blade on a short, cylindrical stipe, 2-3 cm long and 1 mm thick; blade thin, monostromatic above, tristromatic in reproductive areas, and polystromatic toward the base, microscopic veins absent; entire margins and marginal cells divide obliquely; growth is marginal and diffuse, without distinct apical cells; tetrasporangia occur in elliptical sori 2 mm long on median, formed simultaneously on both surfaces of the blade; mature tetrasporangia forming two layers, spherical, tetrahedrally divided, to 80-100 µm in diameter.
