Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Acrochaetium is Acrochaetium secundatum (Lyngbye) Nägeli.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Audouinella daviesii (Dillwyn) Woelkerling.

Type locality: Pennington Bay, Kangaroo Island, South Australia; (Levring 1953: 481) Notes: Isotype: AD, A6499, from South Australia (womersley 1994: 52).
