The type species (lectotype) of the genus Cryptonemia is Cryptonemia lactuca J.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Yonagunia maillardii (Montagne & Maillardet) Showe M.Lin, Y.-C.Chuang & De Cleck.
