Lectotype locality: Swan River, Western Australia, Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 859) Lectotype: TCD; Algae Australicae Exsiccatae 578 (Silva & Womersley 1956: 271) Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting P.Silva & Womersley (1956: 271) for more information on the lectotype locality of this species. According to Womersley (1984: 230) the lectotype is from “Swan River”, W. Aust. (probably near Fremantle).
