Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Fosliella is Fosliella farinosa (J.V.Lamouroux) M.Howe.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pneophyllum limitatum (Foslie) Y.M.Chamberlain.

Lectotype locality: Lendrup Røn, Limfjorden, Denmark; (Veiga, A.J., J. Cremades & I. Bárbara (1997): 133) Lectotype: L.K. Rosenvinge no. 3807; 22 August 1892; "paa luftbl. og løvet af [= on air bubbles and leaves of]Fucus vesiculosus"; TRH; A15-964 (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 133) Notes: Silva et al. (1996) recommend consulting Chamberlain (1983: 376) and Rosenvinge (1909: 27) for further information regarding the lectotype locality of this species.

Adjective A (Latin), margined (Stearn 1983).
