The type species (lectotype) of the genus Rhabdonia is Rhabdonia coccinea (Harvey) Harvey.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Antrocentrum hamatum (Zanardini) Kraft & G.W.Saunders.

Type locality: "Hab. Port Philip - (Ferd. von Mueller.)" [Port Philip, Victoria, Australia]; (Zanardini 1874: 500) Syntype: MCVE; (Kraft & Saunders 2021: 325) Notes: "Original material of Rhabdonia hamata at MCVE (Fig. 13J) was annotated as the 'Isotype' by H. B. S. Womersley on 2 Feb. 1952, but this lectotypification has not been published. Material at MCVE [Type: Victoria. Port Phillip, in drift, s. dat., F. von Mueller s.n.] is here treated as a syntype pending location and examination of other original material that may be held in other herbaria." (Kraft & Saunders 2021: 325).
