Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Lophosiphonia is Lophosiphonia obscura (C.Agardh) Falkenberg.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bryocladia scopulorum (Harvey) Díaz-Tapia.
