The type species (holotype) of the genus Enteromorpha is Enteromorpha intestinalis (Linnaeus) Nees.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Blidingia marginata (J.Agardh) P.J.L.Dangeard ex Bliding.
