Notes: Dawson (1953: 93) Type locality not specifically designated. Syntypes came from Santa Cruz and from Santa Barbara, California. Holotype not designated. Syntype collections by Dr. Anderson and by Miss Lennebacker are probably in the Farlow Herbarium, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Adjective A (Latin), pertaining to California (Stearn 1983).
