Type Information
Type locality: "in aquis marinis in loco 'Lagos' dicto" [Lagos, Nigeria]; (Hendey 1958) Holotype: BM; 102001 (Hendey 2802) (Williams 2024: 13) Notes: Williams (2024: 13) notes "The micrographs of the three specimens published by Hendey (1957 (1958], pl. VI, figs 8-10, see Plate 8, Figure 4, Plate 9, Figure I, 'Lagos') were retained on an index card (Plate 9, Figure 2, with dimensions given as: '[figs] 8-9 x 60-70 µm, 9-10 µm ', from Hendey 2802). Several other micrographs were also retained: one pair of valves from 'Lagos' (Figures l, 2), a second pair from 'Kuwait' (Plate 9, Figures 3, 4). There is no indication which slide any of these images were taken from. There is probably good reason to consider the 'Lagos' and 'Kuwait' specimens as belonging to different species, but no raw material is available for examination and further conclusions await more material."
