Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Dudresnaya is Dudresnaya coccinea (C.Agardh) P.Crouan & H.Crouan.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Himehibirhodia minima (Okamura) M.Hoshino, Kitayama & Kogame.
Type Information
Type locality: Ondo, Hiroshima Pref., Japan; (Hoshino & al. 2024: 145) Type: SAP; herb. Okamura (Yoshida 1998: 667) Notes: "Lectotype: A specimen (Ondo, Hiroshima Pref., Japan; 3 June 1931) in the SAP Okamura collection (Yoshida 1998)." (Hoshino & al. 2024: 145), but this does not appear to be a formally designated lectotype and the authors do not use the required "designated here" wording.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), very little, very least (Stearn 1983).
