Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Caulerpa is Caulerpa prolifera (Forsskål) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Caulerpa cupressoides f. amicorum (Harvey) Weber Bosse.
