The type species (lectotype) of the genus Cosmarium is Cosmarium undulatum Corda ex Ralfs.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cosmarium asphaerosporum var. corribense (West & G.S.West) Willi Krieger & Gerloff.
