Type locality: "Station de Recherches Sous marines et Oceanographiques, Calvi, Corsica, France."; (Han & al. 2018: 84) Notes: Holotype: "cells from culture CCMP 2350 were preserved and mounted on amicroscope slide that was deposited in the New York Botanical Garden herbarium (NY), New York City, NY USA as No. 02335001."
Isotype: "cryopreserved culturestrain CCMP 2350 deposited in the Provasoli-Guillard National Collection of Marine Algae and Microbiota, East Boothbay, ME USA."
Paratypes: "cryopreserved culture strains CCMP 2349 and CCMP 2351 deposited in the Provasoli-Guillard National Collection of Marine Algae and Microbiota, East Boothbay, ME USA."
Eponomy
Named for "...Prof. Vincent Demoulin [Université de Liège, Belgique] who has contributed significantly to the study of fungi, algae and nomenclature. Prof Demoulin collected the material used to isolate the cultures."
