Type locality: "Hab. aquas thermales Italiae ad Abano (herb. Lenormand!), insulae Melos Cycladum (Bory!) et Numidiae ad Hammam-Salahin (Sauvageau!)."; (Gomont 1893: 252) Notes: Silva, Basson & Moe (1996: 57) effectively lectotypify the species with Abano Terme, near Padova, Italy.
