Type locality: Hawaiian Islands (as Sandwich Islands); (Magruder 1988: 80) Holotype: LD, Hb. Ag.; 02935 (Mattio et al. 2009: 1221) Notes: According to Magruder (1988: 80), a lectotype needs to be selected from J.G. Agardh's specimens (Yoshida 1986, pers. comm.).
