Type locality: 'In oceano pacifico calidiore' [Tonga]; (Abbott & Huisman 2005: 157) Lectotype: W.H. Harvey; TCD; (Abbott & Huisman 2005: 157) Notes: Distributed as 'Friendly Islands Algae" No. 46 under the manuscript name of Liagora lubrica. The locality given on the sheets is 'Coral Reef at Ooleva.'
