Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Delesseria is Delesseria sanguinea (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Phitymophora amansioides (Sonder) Womersley.
Type Information
Type locality: Encounter Bay, South Australia; (Silva & al. 1996: 464) Holotype: Mueller; MEL; 4389 (Womersley 2003: 65) Notes: Womersley (2003: 65) notes that the holotype is tetrasporangial and that there are syntypes (cystocarpic) in MEL (4388, 4390).
