Type locality: Møllegrund, off Hirshals, Skagerrak, Denmark; (Rosenvinge 1909: 72-73) Syntype: L.K. Rosenvinge; 8 August 1899; On Polysiphonia stricta; C; (Brodie & Irvine 2003: 59) Notes: Womersley (1994: 26) notes that the type material was found on Polysiphonia urceolata, 11-15 m deep.
