Adjective A (Latin), thick (Stearn 1983).
General Environment
This is a freshwater species.
Description
Plant is rigid, 9-13 cm long, attenuated
upwards and narrowed downwards at the base into a long
stalk, 1.5-2.5 cm long, 0.5-0.7 mm in diameter; unbranched;
nodes are inflated, 1.5-3.0 mm in diameter and internodes
are 0.8-1.2 mm in diameter. Carposporangia are large, cylindrical-
obovate, elliptical or dumbbell-shaped, single, 90-
120 µm long, 50-80 µm in diameter. Spermatangia are in
patches, 5- 6 per node, obviously prominent.
