Type Information
Type locality: Germany: Baden-Würtemburg: Titisee (fide Tuji & Williams, 2009: 130); (Van Heurck 1881: pl. 40: fig. 21) Holotype: (Van Heurck 1881: pl. 40: fig. 21) Notes: According to Blanco (2016: 110), fig. 21 in Van Heurck is the holotype as it is the only original element published. Epitype (designated for the above holotype of Synedra gloiophila Grunow by Van de Vijver & al. 2020: 3): slide BR-4594, prepared from Kützing sample 867, Titisee, Baden-Württemberg, Germany (leg. August 1847), material present in the Van Heurck collection (BR). The epitype is here represented by Van de Vijver & al. 2020: fig. 18.
