Bassano del Grappa (Venetian simply: Basan, italianized: Bassan or Bassàn) is a city and comune in the province of Vicenza, region Veneto, in northern Italy. It bounds the communes of Cassola, Marostica, Solagna, Pove del Grappa, Romano d'Ezzelino, Campolongo sul Brenta, Conco, Rosà, Cartigliano and Nove.

Olivi was an abbot, student at Padua, and would likely have been one of the most important naturalists of his time had he not died at the age of 26. The plates depict crustaceans, shellfish and various types of coral. RARE: no copies of this work appear in American Book Prices Current for the past 30 years.
