Descriptions, Latin diagnoses, and drawings are presented for the new neuston species and genus Topaczevskiella nautococcoides gen. et spec. nov. (Chlorophycophyta, Chlorophyceae, Chlorococcales, Chlorococcaceae) developed in mass quantity in the surface water film in a puddle near vil. Kononcha (suburbs of the Kanev state reserve, the Cherkassy Region). Evolution of the vital algal forms adapted to neuston way of life, having begun among the monade organization of algae, overstepped the limits of monade, capsal and coccoid organization and reached the filamentous stage of morphological differentiation.
