Abstract:
The monograph is an illustrated and annotated catalog of modern and fossil diatom algae in the Glubokoye lake, which is a model water body for studying aquatic ecosystems in the middle belt of European Russia. It contains information on 400 species, varieties and morphotypes of diatoms belonging to the 3 classes, 15 orders, 27 families and 70 genera, revealed in the modern flora and in the bottom sediments of the lake. The annotated list of taxa includes brief descriptions and is supported by a large number of photomicrographs made with the aid of a light and a scanning electron microscope. The book proposes two new nomenclature combinations (Achnanthidium anastasiae comb. Nov., Placoneis opportuna comb. Nov.) And lectotype typing of one species (Cymbopleura sublanceolata).
