Comments: Plant closely resembling Ceramium, originally separated for monopodial, endogenous branching and transverse division of apical cell. Validity of genus challenged (Hommersand 1963), but maintained by later authors on basis of above features and detail of reproductive structures. Recorded from tropical and subtropical seas.
