Description: Cells wall-less, forming monostromatic mucilaginous colonies. Chloroplasts and contractile vacuoles present, no stigma. Uni- and biflagellate swarmers observed, as well as smooth, spherical stomatocysts. Occurs in freshwaters in Europe; one species marine in New Zealand.
