Description: Cells solitary amoebae, with many fine, beaded filipodia, having one chloroplast with a pyrenoid. Reproduction by division and by swarmers which have one,hairy flagellum; the smooth flagellum completely reduced so that only the basal body remains; one chloroplast, lacking a stigma. Stomatocysts unknown. Marine, in supralittoral pools in the Mediterranean.
