Description: Unicellular or shortly filamentous; filaments (trichomes) without sheaths, very short, easily disintegrating into solitary cells, composed from thin, rod-like cells, arcuated into the form of "C" and rounded at the ends. Short filaments 2-4-(8)-celled, with cells joined together correspondingly to their arcuated form. Cells with pale blue-green content. Cells divide transversely to the longer axis of short filaments. Reproduction probably by dissociation into single cells. The type species grows in mucilage of other algae and in plankton. Till now found only twice in Czechoslovakia and in France. Very little known genus of questionable taxonomic validity.
