Choreoclonium Reinsch, 1876

Holotype species: Choreoclonium procumbens Reinsch

Description: Plants consisting of prostrate, branched, uniseriate filaments, lax or closely appressed and pseudoparenchymatous. Cells quadrate to rectangular. Information on chloroplast structure, nucleus, pyrenoids or reproduction lacking. Reported growing on aquatic plants, namely the charophyte Nitella and the moss Fontinalis, from Kerguelen Island in the Indian Ocean. The taxonomic position of this incompletely described alga remains uncertain
