Description: Thallus solitary or forming small colonies, composed from heteropolar filaments, falsely branched and fan-like divaricated. Filaments composed from one trichome in a colorless or slightly brownish, thin sheath. Trichomes cylindrical, slightly and continually narrowed toward ends, terminal cells rounded. Cells more or less isodiametric or slightly shorter or longer than wide. Heterocytes solitary or in twos, basal or intercalar, akinetes or arthrospores are missing. Reproduction by hormogonia and fragmentation.
