Description: Thecate genus harbouring a diatom endosymbiont (Chaetoceros-like with numerous chloroplasts) separated from the host by a single membrane. Hypotheca with three to five, predominantly four, antapical spines of various size. Stigma surrounded by three membranes in the sulcal area.
