This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Polycladia myrica (S.G.Gmelin) Draisma, Ballesteros, F.Rousseau & T.Thibaut.

Type locality: "Mare mediterraneum? ad Littora Kamtschatica quoque legit Kraschenninikow" Collector: Kraschenninikow; (Gmelin 1768: 88) Notes: The type locality as reported by Gmelin “Locus Mare mediterraneum? ad Littora Kamtschatica quoque legit Kraschennikiow” is clearly inconsistent (Lipkin & Silva 2002: 47). Siberia: Kamchatka Peninsula (LT fide C. Agardh 1820) (Index Nominum Algarum).
