The type species (holotype) of the genus Iridaea is Iridaea cordata (Turner) Bory.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Kallymeniopsis lacera (Postels & Ruprecht) Perestenko ex Skriptsova, Shibneva & Semenchenko.
