This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Discostella stelligera (Cleve & Grunow) Houk & Klee.

Berggren, Botanische Staatssammlung München, Germany; Iconotype: Pl. 5, Fig. 63 a by Cleve et Grunow (in Cleve) 1881 (Houk & Klee, 2004: 208).
