General Environment
This is a freshwater species.
Description
Young cells obovate, ellipsoidal, spherical and mature cells spherical or often with a protrusion, 20 microns in diameter, with smooth cell wall. Reproduction by formation of 2-8 aplanospores, and 8-16 zoospores. Zoospores walled, ellipsoidal, cylindrical, 3-4 microns by (8-) 11-14 microns in size. Stigma absent. Longer flagellum 17-19microns in length and shorter flagellum 9-10 microns in length.
