The type species (lectotype) of the genus Callithamnion is Callithamnion corymbosum (Smith) Lyngbye.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Spermothamnion repens var. flagelliferum (De Notaris ex Ardissone) Feldmann-Mazoyer.
