Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Carpopeltis is Carpopeltis phyllophora (Hooker f. & Harvey) F.Schmitz.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Yonagunia formosana (Okamura) Kawaguchi & Masuda.

Kawaguchi, S., Shimada, S., Wang, H.W. & Masuda, M. (2004). The new genus Yonagunia Kawaguchi & Masuda (Halymeniaceae, Rhodophyta), based on Y. tenuifolia Kawaguchi & Masuda sp. nov. from southern Japan and including Y. formosana (Okamura) Kawaguchi & Masuda comb. nov. from southheast Asia.
