Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Fucus is Fucus vesiculosus Linnaeus.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Callophyllis lambertii (Turner) Kützing.
Type Information
Type locality: "Coast of New Holland", Australia; (Womersley 1994: 256) Type: King; (Womersley 1994: 256) Notes: According to Womersley (1994: 256) the type could not be located in K or BM. He notes that Turner's original figure is fairly typical of the species.
