The type species (lectotype) of the genus Grateloupia is Grateloupia filicina (J.V.Lamouroux) C.Agardh.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Rhodoglossum gigartinoides (Sonder) Edyvane & Womersley.
