Type locality: Dunga beach, Lake Victoria, Kenya; (Krienitz et al. 2011: 101) Holotype: Culture Collection of Algae and Protozoa, Oban , Scotland; cryopreserved material of the authentic strain CCAP 211/406 (Krienitz et al. 2011: 101) Notes: Isotype: An air-dried and a formaldehyde-fixed sample of strain CCAP 211/406, deposited at the Botanical Museum at Berlin-Dahlem, Germany (B40 0040678). Iconotype: Fig. 6 (Krienitz et al. 2011).
