Vouchers in Leiden herbarium distributed as Exsiccatae Phycotheca Boreali-Americana No. 1284 (Boedeker & Hansen 2010).

Habitat note
From surface layer of mud under Chaetomorpha aerea/C. linum and Rhizoclonium sp. mats in an intertidal etuarine habitat further characterized by Cyanobacteria and Vaucheria spp.; from damp soil among Salicornia sp. in a saltmarsh; endophytic in Zostera marina (Boedeker & Hansen 2010).
