Type Information
Type locality: "Canada, British Columbia, Horsefly River Valley; Middle Eocene."; (Wolfe & Edlund 2005: 247) Notes: "HOLOTYPE: CANA 76143 (Canadian Museum of Nature, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). Middle Eocene lake sediment sample 87H2 from the lower (H2) varve sequence at Horsefly Mine (Wilson and Barton 1996). Holotype specimen is illustrated in Fig. 2i."
Eponomy
"Named after Dr. Mark W.H. Wilson (Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) in recognition of his enormous contributions to the paleolimnology and paleoichthyology of Eocene lakes in western North America."
