Type locality: F'derick (latitude =22.675, longitude= -12.732), Mauritanian Desert; (Barsanti et al. 2013: 182) Holotype: fig 3a and b: Laura Barsanti; soil sample from saline dry basin in iron mining area; (Barsanti et al. 2013: 182, 179) Notes: The strain is present as liquid culture in Instituto di Biofisica, Pisa, Italy.
