Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Pollexfenia is Pollexfenia pedicellata Harvey.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Botryoglossum cartilagineum (Harvey & Greville) Papenfuss.

Adjective (Latin), cartilaginous, flexible but firm and tough (Stearn 1983).
