Type locality: "Im Torfmoor am Titisee, in Lachen an den Wänden und die Stengel und Wurzeln verschiedener Pflanzen, besonders der Menyanthes trifoliata, überziehend als schmutzig gelbliche, ziemlich feste, flache oder höckerige Gallertmasse." [In the peat bog at Titisee, in puddles on the walls and covering the stems and roots of various plants, especially Menyanthes trifoliata, as a dirty yellowish, fairly solid, flat or bumpy gelatinous mass. Titisee, outhern Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany]; (Rabenhorst 1853: 50) Lectotype (designated by Van de Vijver & al. 2024: 5): BR; 4815 (Van de Vijver & al. 2024: 5) Notes: "BR-4815, Rabenhorst sample n° 761, Im Torfmoor am Titisee im badischen Schwarzwalde, leg.
