Type locality: "High Beech" [High Beach in Essex, on the western fringes of Epping Forest, about 11 miles NE of London]; (Hassall 1845: 383) Notes: Lectotype (designated by Anissimova & Guiry, 2021: 2): Ralfs, pl. XIV: fig 3 a, 1848, which is a copy of Hassall's (pl. XC: fig. 5), which was collected from "High Beech".
